Sen. Raphael Warnock Speaks to Fraternity & Sorority Members in Detroit in Support of Harris

U.S. Senator from Georgia Raphael Warnock spoke to fraternity and sorority members in Detroit on Friday at the Alpha House, home of the Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., encouraging support for Kamala Harris with 18 days until Election Day.

Warnock stated "I'm a proud American, and in this American moment, we need the Divine Nine, and through Kamala Harris, the Divine Nine is getting ready to save the country again", referencing the National Pan-Hellenic Council, also known as the Divine Nine, which is composed of historically African American sororities & fraternities and which Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is a part of. Vice President Harris is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., one of the original chartering organizations of the NPHC.

Senator Warnock also stated "I don't buy this messaging that we're hearing that there's going to be these huge waves of Black men voting for Donald Trump. I don't believe that". He said "there will be some, but I don't believe that there's huge numbers of Black men voting for Donald Trump, because we know who Donald Trump is".
