'Defending Democracy Town Hall' Held in Sterling Heights, Michigan

A ‘Defending Democracy Town Hall' was held Wednesday morning in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with officials discussing election security and processes.

A panel at the event included Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, Michigan Deputy Secretary of State Aghogho Edevbie, Sterling Heights City Clerk Melanie Ryska, and Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini. The event was moderated by attorney & reporter Charlie Langton, and was held at the Sterling Heights Community Center.

The town hall is one of several similar events that have been held in Michigan in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election. Wednesday’s event comes as absentee voting is already underway in the state, with early voting set to begin statewide at the end of next week.

The event featured remarks from officials, as well as a question-and-answer portion where attendees posed election-related queries to the panelists.
