Kamala Harris Campaigns in Flint, Michigan
Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned in Flint, Michigan on Friday, with a rally held at the Dort Financial Center.
The event marked Harris’s first rally in Michigan this month, with 32 days to go until the 2024 presidential election.
Speakers at the rally included former professional basketball player Magic Johnson, UAW President Shawn Fain, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Also appearing at the rally were Senator Debbie Stabenow and Representative Elissa Slotkin. Slotkin is running as the Democratic nominee in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race to fill the seat currently occupied by Stabenow, who announced last year she would not be seeking re-election. Slotkin’s main challenger in the race is Republican nominee Mike Rogers.
The rally site, a sports and entertainment complex that is home of the Flint Firebirds hockey team, was the venue for a Trump town hall event a few weeks prior, with the former President campaigning in Flint on September 17th and speaking on stage with former White House Press Secretary and current Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
