Midnight Run Sled Dog Race Makes 2025 Return to Downtown Marquette, Michigan

The Midnight Run, an 8-dog, 82-mile sled dog race, kicked off in downtown Marquette on Friday evening, shortly after the start of the UP200.

Both races, as well as the Jack Pine 30 slated to start Saturday morning in nearby Gwinn, have returned this year following a two-year hiatus due to poor conditions for holding the races in 2023 and 2024.

The run utilizes the same starting location as the UP200, and like the longer race’s kickoff that preceded it, spectators viewed the first part of this year’s race along Washington Street in downtown Marquette.
