Police Clear Encampment at Wayne State University in Detroit

Police clear an encampment set up at Wayne State University on Thursday, May 30th, 2024

Wayne State University Police moved in to clear the pro-Palestine encampment set up on campus early Tuesday morning.

Several arrests were made, and protesters were moved to the sidewalk as the campus was closed off. A crew came through to clear items from the encampment immediately after, with a dumpster brought in along Gullen Mall.

Protesters held a press conference hours after the clearing, discussing arrests made throughout the morning as well as demands from WSU SJP (Students for Justice in Palestine) to the administration
